Safety
Often we are asked if babywearing is safe. the simple answer: If babies airways are not restricted and they are not at risk of being dropped, then yes, carrying your baby is safe.
To assist parents and caregivers in ensuring that is possible, TICKS was designed as a guide to creating a safe and secure carry.
Common sence and trusting intuition is also advised.

Hip Displaysia and DDH
There are many ways to carry a baby with Hip displaysia or DDH. Ergonomic carriers using optimal positioning are ideal.
There is no evidence confirming that narrow based carriers cause DDH, however if there is a family history of hip displaysia, it's advised that narrow based carriers are avoided.
In any case of HD and DDH we recommend you consult with your health professional team. Baby carrying Consultants may be available to attend meetings with you and your healthcare team to discuss options should you need additional support.

Mind the feet!
When carrying a baby wearing an all in one suit, be mindful of the pressure on their toes and ankles. Wearing a suit one size too big or dressing baby in leggings may be a more ergonomic option.
