Wrapture Harvest Dusk
Harvest Dusk is the first release from Wrapture Australia. Composed of 60% super mercerised cotton and 40% sustainably grown bamboo, this baby is soft straight off the loom. Harvest Dusk comes in at 241 gsm, so it's on the thinner side.
Thin wraps are my jam, so I was vey excited to take this lovely for a spin. I must admit I was a bit sceptical about how bamboo would hold up against my toddler's ample butt. I'd heard over and over again about how perfect bamboo was for little babies, and I had a preconceived notion that that was ALL it was good for. I was wrong. If there's one word to describe how Dusk feels, it's luxurious.
Silky soft and supple, it's like no wrap I've ever felt. Surely it would be slippery? Wrong again. Our first wrap was a Front Wrap Cross Carry. Dusk is a dream to work with; easily grasped in hand, and you can really feel where you're tightening. You do have to do a careful wrap in Dusk, but the wrap itself makes that easy. It glides beautifully into place, and the subtle texture of the basket weave keeps it there.
After a week or two of various carries, for various lengths of time, I came to realise there's not much this wrap can't do. To be sure, in a ruck it does need careful tightening. My favourite carry with Dusk was a Double Hammock. I'm partial to a candy cane chest belt, I prefer to have the shoulder passes 'pulled' off my shoulders. The thinness of Dusk facilitates this beautifully. I would recommend Dusk to beginners and experienced wearers alike.
